Position Overview

If you love beer, meeting new people from all over the world, and leading unforgettable experiences around the Twin Cities, this might be your jam.

As a Bitter Minnesota Brewery Tour Bus Driver, you will be responsible for safely transporting our customers to different craft breweries on scheduled tours. You'll play a vital role in creating a positive and engaging atmosphere, while ensuring a fun and interesting experience for all of our tour passengers. This position requires a combination of excellent driving skills, customer service abilities, and a passion for craft beer.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a tour bus, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Follow predetermined routes and itineraries, ensuring timely arrival and departure at each brewery.
  • Provide a warm, welcoming, and informative experience to passengers, serving as their tour guide throughout the journey.
  • Engage with customers, answering questions about craft beer, breweries, and local attractions.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring their comfort and safety.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the tour bus, conducting routine inspections and reporting any maintenance issues.
  • Coordinate with brewery staff to ensure a seamless experience for passengers, including arranging brewery tours, tastings, and other activities.
  • Keep accurate records of passenger counts, tour details, and any incidents or feedback received.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to responsible alcohol consumption and ensure passengers adhere to brewery policies.

Qualifications

  • 21 years of age or older with high school diploma or GED
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check
  • Successful completion of Department of Transportation physical
  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate Minneapolis-St Paul metro
  • Proven experience in operating commercial vehicles, preferably with tour bus or charter bus driving experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of local traffic laws, routes, and potential driving challenges.
  • A passion for craft beer and familiarity with different breweries, beer styles, and brewing processes is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and connect with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to adhere to schedules and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Exceptional customer service skills, including the ability to handle challenging situations with patience and professionalism.
  • Prior experience in hospitality, tourism, or brewery-related roles is preferred but not mandatory.

Work Schedule

The Brewery Tour Bus Drive position is a part-time gig. The hours are flexible, and we’ll work with you to get as many or as little hours as you need at different times of the year. Here is what you can expect:

  • Most Bitter tours are about 3 hours long
  • The duration can range from 3 to 5+ hours
  • You can expect about 4 to 14+ hours per week

This role is a great side hustle for folks looking for weekends only, evenings only, or something as random as every other Tuesday.

Physical Requirements: You will be required to safely operate a motor vehicle within the Twin Cities area. This includes the ability to sit for durations of up to 60 minutes at a time while driving. You will be required to stand, walk, climb steps for durations of at least 45 minutes at each tour stop and you will also need the mobility to carry and pour beer during our beer tastings.
